I was in a discussion about how the Hollywood SDA church has ordained a transgender an an elder and quoted Psalm 11:5 The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion..

Someone responded with Romans 3:10 as it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
This really disturbed me, it went against everything I believed. Does the Bible contradict itself? Why would it say that the lord examines the righteous then later say there is no one who is righteous. So I had do to some research.

This is typical of many so called Christian, they will grab a verse and use it out of context to prove a point that isn’t there. Before I post a verse, I will read the entire chapter, pray about it, re-read it, then look up sermons on the subject and see what other opinions are, the Holy Spirit always brings me to an answer, even though sometimes it’s not what I want to hear.

All anyone has to do with the Romans 3:10 is to read on. When you get to verse 20 you’ll see what the context is:

Romans 20-24
because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

Now the picture becomes clear. We cannot be made righteous from keeping the law, for we all sin, BUT, we can be made righteous through faith in Jesus Christ.
