Women’s role in the Church
The Women’s Ordination controversy is alive and well. There are a number of Adventist Church leaders and members who believe women should have the same leadership roles as men in the Adventist Church. This belief is in direct contradiction to the Word of God! The Bible clearly teaches men are to be the spiritual leaders in the home and church. This does not mean that one gender is superior to the other. We are all equal as created human beings. Our God-given gender roles helps to provide balance in our homes and church in a world filled with Satanic chaos. Other protestant churches who have traveled this detour from biblical truth have almost always come to accept homosexual members, and some even homosexual pastors! Sodom and Gomorrah indeed!
BREAKING NEWS – The Washington and Oregon Conferences have recently voted to allow their ordained “male” pastors turn in their ordination credentials for commission credentials.
“The committee approved the request of 10 pastors — eight within the Oregon Conference and two in Washington Conference — to voluntarily relinquish ordination credentials and accept instead commissioned minister credentials. Both conferences have recently voted to allow both ordained and commissioned ministers within their territories to fulfill the same responsibilities. This action acknowledges the wish of these pastors to be assigned the same credentials as female pastors under current world church policy.”
Instead to pushing this rebellious “human” belief, we should be teaching and mentoring our young men on how to be Christ-like leaders in the home and church. The Bible “clearly” teaches that men must first prove themselves in the home to qualify for leadership roles in the church. If we were following this Biblical teaching, we would begin to have healthier homes and churches. If a majority of the church families were healthy the local churches would be healthy. Healthy churches would be able to achieve success in the great commission Jesus gave us in Matthew 28.
If only our Church leaders could see how intimately this Women’s Ordination issue is negatively connected to our overall effectiveness in mission. Please stand up and speak up as the Spirit moves.
The Adventist Church in North America is in crisis. The devil has attacked us through extreme liberalism through the unfallen nature of Christ and that the atonement was finished on the cross heresy and now we are a Church that has largely lost it’s spiritual, missional, and theological identity (just as prophesied by our prophet EGW).
Instead of focusing on equipping our church members to be modern-day disciples, we are catering to the itching ears of those who warm the pews Sabbath after Sabbath. Some churches, pastors, and conference officials are very good at watering down the truth causing our Church to become divided and powerless.
Through current events, it is evident that many of our Church leaders have lost touch with the Holy Spirit. Instead of staying true to God’s Word in regards to women in ministry and leadership, we are seeing a rebellious push to ordain women no matter what the Bible says! They started very deceptively 30-40 years ago by unbiblically introducing women (eldresses) in the church. (They can’t be elders, anymore than they can be deacons, because they are not males…) In the bible there is no difference between elders (unpaid church leaders), and pastors (church leaders supported by the tithe). They are one of position, not function! They both lead the church.
The Bible (God’s Word) clearly teaches that men and women are equal as human beings, but that have been given specific gender roles. Men have been called to be the spiritual leaders in the home. The Bible goes on to teach that men must first prove themselves as Godly and effective leaders in the home before they are given leadership responsibilities in the church.
Even though this simple message is clearly written in God’s Word, we see one conference after another throw out the truth in an effort to push a worldly doctrine.
The time has come for the average church member to stop following after rebellious church leaders and humbly seek God’s will in His Word for themselves. If we truly pray and seek God’s face, He will bless us with His wisdom and the desire to follow Him no matter what pastors and conference officials say when they are trying to mislead and deceive!
It is time for you to stand up for Jesus and His lifesaving truths!
It is time for you to speak up and defend the faith!
As we stand up and speak up, God’s endtime Church will begin to shake like never before. It is during persecution that those who are not grounded in God’s Word and love for Jesus will fall out, making room for those to come in who are truly seeking a genuine walk with their Creator and Savior.
Guideline Lines for Standing Up and Speaking Up
Do focus on standing up and speaking up when church leaders try to push pro women’s ordination or pro homosexual agendas (current issues in the Church).
Do focus on recreating our churches into safe places for people to meet Jesus and grow in His amazing grace.
By the grace of God, we can become a Church that is alive and on fire for Jesus and His amazing truths. Let us pray that God will consume us and fill us and drive us in the mission to seek and to save the lost… making this our reason to live from day to day.
The Bible says that Jesus came to seek and to save the lost and that we are to follow His footsteps. In doing so, we will take our eyes off the petty things that divide us and unite in the mission God has given us.
Satan knows that God’s endtime Church will be weak and fragmented if the family units within the local churches are weak and dysfunctional
Men are not being taught and mentored how to be spiritual leaders in the home (family units)
The creation of dysfunctional family units causes God’s Church to be weak, fragmented, and missionless
Because of weak family units leading to weak churches, our church leaders are now following culture instead of what God’s plain word says to justify the placement of women in men’s leadership roles in the church.
Instead of pushing a worldly, women in ministry agenda, we need to be teaching, training, and mentoring our young and older men to be Godly and spiritual leaders in the home, which will then qualify them for leadership roles in the local churches
Please share this message with others in your local church. You may copy and paste this message to be sent to other Adventists who need to hear the truth. Let us stand up and speak up for Jesus.
Called to be Household and Church Leaders
Adventist liberals and feminists are moving quick to destroy a Biblical teaching that will cause our Church to be weaker instead of stronger. We need to prayerfully seek God’s plan for Adventist homes and churches. It is important that we study this topic with an open and teachable mind.
All throughout Old and New Testament history, men have been called by God to be household leaders, kings, priests, and apostles. Not once did God deviate from this system! God the Father and Jesus had many opportunities to change the gender role system, but never did!
“But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness”. 1 Timothy 2:12-15
The Apostle Paul is not a male chauvinist pig or just happened to be stuck in a specific cultural time. Paul is tying this God-given teaching to the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. By doing so, he is including all generations and cultures.
“The Scriptures are plain upon the relations and rights of men and women” (Ellen G. White, Testimonies, vol. 1, p. 421).
“All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” — 2 Timothy 3:16.
We need to remember that men are built and wired for physical strength and leadership. Women on the other hand are wired with highly sensitive emotions and work great in a nurturing or supporting role. Women help bring balance in the relationship between men and women… making them a team instead of competing adversaries. “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” Lucifer as the serpent used women’s sensitivity to his advantage and deceived Eve into taking of the fruit.
“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it”. Ephesians 5:22-25
God is clearly teaching that there are Biblical Gender Roles. Men are to be “Christ-like” leaders in the home and women are to respect this Biblical system.
“All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” — 2 Timothy 3:16.
This is where the Church needs to step in and help educate, support, and hold our men accountable to the calling of household leadership. The health of our Church is based on the health of Adventist homes. If a majority of our church families and homes are dysfunctional… a majority of our churches will be dysfunctional. We need to stop playing into the hands of culture following Adventist liberals and feminists and get to work strengthening our household leaders and families.
“All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” — 2 Timothy 3:16.
What does the Bible say about church leadership? The Bible clearly teaches that the church is to be led by “men” who have proved themselves as household leaders.
“Faithful is the Word: If anyone reaches out to overseership, he desires a good work. Then it behooves the overseer to be without reproach, husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, well-ordered, hospitable, apt at teaching, not a drunkard, not contentious, not greedy of ill gain, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous, ruling his own house well, having children in subjection with all honor. For if a man does not know to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God”? 1 Timothy 3:1-5
Please look at the words God uses to qualify a man to be a church leader.
1. Husband of one wife
2. Ruling his own house well
3. For if a man does not know to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?
“All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” — 2 Timothy 3:16.
I do not know about you, but it is clear to me that God has plainly communicated His will for household and church leadership. God is not telling us that men are more important or of higher value then women. No! It is the exact opposite. Men are called to be servant-leaders in the home and church. Husbands are to serve their wives as Jesus served His disciples in the upper-room right before His death on the cross. Men have the God-given responsibility of making sure that Christ is lifted up in the home and church.
Because of this calling… men need to be the first to apologize, do what is right, serve others, and lead the family in worship. If more and more men stood up are Christ-like leaders in the home settings, we would begin to see them stand up for Jesus in the church settings.
Remember:
• Dysfunctional Homes Create Dysfunctional Churches
• Healthy Homes Create Healthy Churches
Let us pray for and hold our Church leaders accountable to the wonderful truths that God has given us. We do not want to be a Church that has turned its back on God!
“If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (and homes and churches). 2 Chronicles 7:14
Please pray about this very important issue and if you feel impressed to ask our Church leaders to stay true to God’s Word… I invite you to write a short note to our North American Division leaders!
“All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” — 2 Timothy 3:16.
Four women were ordained in the Ohio Conference. This is the first “women’s” ordination in the Ohio Conference’s history. It amazes me that some of our “spiritual” leaders will boldly rebel and think they can get away with it. The Bible has a harsh message for spiritual leaders who deceive God’s people.
“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who secretly will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their pernicious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be evil spoken of. And through covetousness they will use you for gain with well-turned words; for whom judgment from of old does not linger, and their destruction does not sleep”. 2 Peter 2:1-3
